Edition #193
Hi BossMa Fam!🪷
As founders, we naturally spend a lot of time thinking about what our businesses need.
More customers, more sales, more visibility, better partnerships and more opportunities to grow.
But as we build for longer, I think we also start to realise that business isn’t only about what we gain. A big part of building something meaningful is the value we create for the people around us. 💚
Sometimes that value is obvious. It is the product we make, the service we provide or the problem we solve for a customer.
But sometimes, it is much smaller and much more personal.
→ Sometimes, generosity is as simple as making an introduction, sharing something useful, recommending someone’s work or helping a customer a little more than they expected.
None of these things may immediately appear on our revenue dashboards.
But they create something that becomes increasingly valuable as our businesses grow: goodwill.
And goodwill has a funny way of travelling.🙂🪜
→ One introduction can become a partnership.
→ One recommendation can become a customer.
→ One generous conversation can give another founder the confidence to take their next step.
That doesn’t mean we should give everything away or stop thinking about our own business. It simply means that not every interaction has to be measured by what we get back immediately.🟰
As we continue our Lead journey, we arrive at the 💚 Heart Chakra, the centre of connection, compassion, generosity and meaningful contribution.
Its reminder this week is simple.
Generosity Multiplies Value🌿
When we create value for others, we strengthen the relationships and communities around our businesses. And those relationships can eventually create opportunities that none of us could have created alone.
So this week, pause and ask yourself:
→ Where can I create genuine value for someone without immediately asking for something in return?
Let’s go ahead and Lead from the Heart by diving into this week’s signature 1 Tip-1 Tool-1 Technique now. 🙂💚🙌🏽
🎁1 Tip: Give Before You Get/Need🎁
One of the simplest ways to build stronger relationships is to become someone who gives value before asking for it.
Share a useful resource, make an introduction, celebrate someone’s milestone or recommend another founder when you genuinely believe in their work.
You don’t have to wait until you need a favour to start nurturing the relationships around your business.
🔥 BossMa Hot Tip: This week, do one genuinely useful thing for someone in your network without expecting anything back.
🗺️1 Tool: The Value Map🗺️
Set aside fifteen minutes this week and think about the people who already form part of your business ecosystem.
Start with four groups:
🛍️ Customers who buy from you, support you or recommend you
🤝 Partners who could create something meaningful with you
🌸 Community members, groups or organisations connected to your work
🌟 Peers and Mentors who challenge your thinking and support your growth
Now, instead of asking what each person can do for your business, ask yourself:
→ What could I do that would genuinely make something easier, better or more valuable for them?
You may be surprised by how much value you already have to offer.
🌱1 Technique: The Generosity Touchpoint🌱
Choose three people from your Value Map this week and create one thoughtful touchpoint with each of them.
→ Thank a customer, share an opportunity, make an introduction or simply check in with someone you haven’t spoken to in a while.
There is just one rule:
Don’t ask for anything.
The goal is simply to strengthen the relationship and build goodwill over time. 💚
🔥 Hot Tip: People may discover you through what you sell, but they remember you for how you make them feel. As cliched as this sounds, it is true! Test this for yourself this week!🤩
What’s Brewing This Week☕
Try NariBot™ on WhatsApp🤖👸🏽
Sometimes, creating more value starts with looking at your business from your customer’s perspective instead of your own.
This week, spend a few minutes with NariBot™ and think through where you could create more value for the people your business serves.
Ask NariBot:
Hi NariBot,
I run a <business type, sector, stage> business.
How can I create more value for my customers, partners and community without making everything about selling?
💡 Prompting Tip: Add a little more context about your customers, what you currently offer and the kind of business you want to build. NariBot can give you a much more useful response when it understands your situation.
Want to know NariBot responds so accurately about your business and income growth?🤩☀️
Businesses may begin with products and services, but the ecosystems around them are built through relationships. 🤝
Every useful introduction, every promise kept and every thoughtful interaction adds another little layer to those relationships.
And when the Heart leads, growth becomes less about what we can take from an ecosystem and more about what we can contribute to it. 💚
So this week, look around your business and find one person you can help, one relationship you can strengthen or one opportunity you can create for someone else.
You never know where that small act of generosity might travel.
Let’s Lead from the Heart and build businesses that create value far beyond the transaction. 🌿
Thanks for reading the BossMa | Strategy Sunday Newsletter! See you next week 🙂💚🙌🏽
